About the Position:
Ambitions Therapy is seeking dependable, compassionate, and experienced Associate Therapists and Registered and Certified Substance Use Counselors to lead in-person therapy group sessions at residential and outpatient treatment centers across Orange County. Our team delivers trauma-informed, client-centered, and evidence-based group sessions that support clients navigating addiction, mental health challenges, as well as dual diagnosis clients.
This role is ideal for individuals with clinical training, lived experience, and a strong passion for supporting clients in recovery through meaningful, engaging group work. Our ideal candidate is punctual, disciplined, takes initiative, and communicative. This role is good for individuals looking for subsidized income or part-time employment. Compensation for group services encompasses all facilitation and documentation responsibilities, and separate payment for these activities is not provided; as both are necessary duties for each hourly session.
**Please note that we, Ambitions Therapy, are not a standalone treatment facility. We contract with SUD/MH treatment facilities to run group therapy sessions inside of their facilities. The majority of our clientele are in central and southern Orange Counties. Please consider your commute time and distance when applying to this position as the commute is also included in your hourly rate.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate structured therapy groups on topics such as relapse prevention, trauma, emotional regulation, communication, grief, and coping skills
- Foster a safe, supportive, and interactive group environment
- Coordinate briefly with on-site staff before and after sessions
- Complete same-day documentation, including group and individual participation notes
- Represent Ambitions Therapy with professionalism, punctuality, and integrity
Required Credentials (Must Hold One):
- RADT (Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician)
- SUDRC (Substance Use Disorder Registered Counselor)
- CADAC I or II (Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor)
- CATC I or II (Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor)
- AMFT (Associate Marriage & Family Therapist)
- ASW (Associate Clinical Social Worker)
- APCC (Associate Professional Clinical Counselor)
Additional Requirements:
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
- Up-to-date C3 screening, including TB test and drug screening (if you do not have a recent TB test result and/or C3 screen, you will be required to obtain them prior to facilitating your first group. These screenings will be your responsibility.)
- Active or Pending professional liability insurance covering mental health and/or substance use counseling
- Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality
- Strong group facilitation and verbal communication skills
- Ability to complete concise and professional documentation
- Live Scan clearance is a plus – not required, but applicants who can pass Live Scan will be given priority consideration
