Responsibilities include: -Evaluate the current strategies and interventions for students; modify or develop appropriate behavior and/or educational interventions and strategies using information from the IEP, Functional Behavior Assessment, direct observation, school input and other sources. -Provide individual educational and behavioral support to enable students to improve academically and behaviorally. -Participate in designing IEPs and attending meetings as needed. -Implement educationally sound services and supports to allow students to remain in the least restrictive setting as appropriate for their educational and behavioral needs.
- Communicate and engage families in the educational life of students in the program.-Provide training, consultation, and other support activities to staff working with students with autism spectrum disorder across a variety of settings. -Provide direction and training to paraprofessional staff assigned to autism services.-Develop and implement professional development activities as assigned. -Gather, analyze, and interpret evaluation and assessment data for individual students/programs. -Participate in certification programs, seminars, and workshops.
- Evaluate outside programs, curricula, and training packages for use within the program.-Collaborate with outside agencies, service providers, and other consultants to improve programming for students with behaviors.
