Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our team during evening hours from 2 PM to 10 PM. In this vital role, you will provide safe and accurate medication administration while delivering exceptional care to residents in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings. Your expertise will support residents’ health, comfort, and well-being, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and fostering a warm, respectful environment. Duties
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols, including oral, topical, and injectable medications.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition, documenting findings meticulously in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility support, hygiene, and feeding assistance, especially for individuals with dementia or memory care needs.
- Maintain comprehensive medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of medication records and medical histories.
- Support residents with specialized care needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or hospice-related services while adhering to safety standards.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to update care plans and communicate resident status effectively.
- Ensure a safe environment by following infection control procedures and maintaining proper medication storage protocols.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous.
- Experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory impairments enhances your ability to provide compassionate support.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards ensures compliance and confidentiality.
- Background working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in hospice care settings is a plus.
