Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, check them in and out efficiently, and manage appointment scheduling to optimize clinic flow
- Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and accurately input data into Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Assist with patient intake by recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete
- Support clinical staff with basic procedures such as taking vital signs, preparing treatment rooms, and assisting during examinations
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, manage phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and coordinate appointment reminders
- Handle administrative tasks including ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), billing support, and documentation of treatment notes
- Support the clinical team with specialized knowledge in areas such as anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to facilitate effective patient care
Requirements
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting such as chiropractic clinics, hospitals (including hospital medicine or emergency medicine), or outpatient clinics is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medical-surgical procedures
- Experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions is essential
- Ability to perform basic clinical tasks including taking vital signs and assisting with medication administration when necessary
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures or hospital trauma center experience is a plus but not required
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor that fosters positive patient interactions
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory
