Duties
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems on various heavy equipment and vehicles
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and vehicle inspections to prevent future issues
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, HVAC units, and other complex machinery
- Operate fire apparatus safely during maintenance or repair tasks
- Assemble new equipment or components according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards
- Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately in service records for compliance and future reference
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair in dealership or industrial settings
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, power tools, and hand tool
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems
- Familiarity with OEM parts replacement procedures and service standards
- Ability to lift heavy components safely during repairs and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
Preferred experience include , fabrication skills, experience with cummins,detroit or other heavy equipment brands, HVAC knowledge, tire service expertise, and familiarity with service technician procedures. Candidates should demonstrate mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, electrical wiring, suspension alignment, and hydraulic repairs.
