Position Summary The Controller is a key financial leader responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company’s accounting and financial reporting. This role requires prior Controller experience in a manufacturing environment and demonstrated success managing and developing accounting professionals. The Controller will oversee accounting operations, financial close, internal controls, cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, audits, and compliance while building a strong, accountable team. Key Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure accurate, timely financial statements and reconciliations. Oversee general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and fixed assets. Maintain effective internal controls, safeguard company assets, identify financial risks, and correct process or control deficiencies. Manage product costing, margins, inventory valuation, manufacturing variances, and related financial reporting. Coordinate external audits, tax matters, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements with internal and external partners. Partner with executive leadership, operations, and financial planning teams to provide accurate financial information and support business decisions. Improve accounting processes, systems, reporting accuracy, efficiency, and departmental performance. Leadership Responsibilities Directly manage, coach, develop, and hold accounting team members accountable for performance and results. Set clear priorities, responsibilities, deadlines, and performance expectations. Delegate meaningful work to develop employee capabilities and strengthen departmental depth. Identify and address staffing needs, workload imbalances, skill gaps, and performance concerns in a timely manner. Build a collaborative culture focused on ownership, knowledge sharing, professional growth, and continuous improvement. Education and Experience Requirements Master of Accountancy (MAcc) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required; candidates with both are strongly preferred. Prior Controller experience in a manufacturing environment required. Demonstrated experience directly managing, supervising, coaching, and developing employees required. Strong experience with financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, and audits. Experience with ERP systems and modern accounting technology required. Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing accounting principles. Proven leadership, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail with a strong commitment to financial accuracy and integrity. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with data analytics or business intelligence tools is a plus
