Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Project Engineer/Estimator to join our energy efficiency & construction team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind project cost estimation, bidding, and project coordination, ensuring that each project is delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget. Your expertise will help shape successful project outcomes by combining technical knowledge with strategic negotiation skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse construction projects while honing your skills in design, estimation, cost control, project management, and contract administration.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope using tools like Bluebeam, Procore, Excel, BuildOps & more.
- Develop detailed pricing strategies for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services to ensure competitive bids.
- Collaborate closely with the Energy Efficiency team, project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate contracts and secure favorable terms.
- Assist in the development of project schedules and budgets, monitoring costs throughout the construction process to maintain financial targets.
- Review and interpret construction contracts to ensure compliance with scope, budget, and safety standards.
- Support construction site teams by providing technical guidance on estimating procedures and cost control measures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in estimating accuracy and project delivery processes.
- Ensure all project milestones and efficiency requirements are met.
- Work with Accounting for SOV's and progressive billings.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles and energy efficiency projects.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for digital markup and document management; experience with Fast Pipe, Fast Duct, Procore or similar estimating software is required.
- Solid knowledge of construction site operations, safety standards, and project management practices.
- Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate vendor agreements and subcontractor contracts.
- Ability to analyze complex project data for accurate cost control and pricing strategies.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Construction site experience is a plus, providing practical insights into on-the-ground challenges. Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
