We're searching for a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. This program
provides intensive, individualized instruction to students who thrive with consistent, comprehensive
support across various settings. These learners may access the general education curriculum with
accommodations and/or modifications. Instruction emphasizes academic and social skill development
to promote greater independence and future success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the special education teacher, provide instruction and support to students
in the Level 3 Program across diverse learning environments (e.g., general education
classroom, special education classroom).
- Support the development of functional communication skills, utilizing various strategies and
tools as directed by the teacher and ancillary service providers.
- Deliver instruction focused on essential academic skills to support students in content courses,
as well as any additional building needs determined by the teacher, teacher consultant, and/or
supervisor.
- Facilitate the acquisition of adaptive daily living abilities (e.g., self-care, organizational skills,
community routines) to promote greater independence, which may include assisting students
with personal care needs such as toileting.
- Implement positive behavior interventions and supports consistently, helping students develop
self-regulation and coping strategies. You must be willing to be CPI trained within 30 school
days of hire and update annually.
- Work seamlessly with the special education teacher, other paraprofessionals, and ancillary
service providers (e.g., Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Behavior
Specialists) to maintain a cohesive and integrated support system.
- Observe, document, and report student progress, challenges, and successes accurately to the
special education teacher.
- Ability to follow a medical plan for students as directed.
- Assist with the preparation, organization, and adaptation of instructional materials and learning
environments to meet student needs.
