Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation by chopping, slicing, measuring ingredients, and organizing supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards while maintaining consistency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support the kitchen team in meal assembly and plating for dine-in or catering orders
- Handle dishwashing duties efficiently to keep the kitchen running smoothly and uphold sanitation standards
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure safety at all times
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supply needs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service setting such as a restaurant, catering operation, or dietary department is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen safety practices
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation processes
- Experience with menu planning, food handling, and food safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues
- Basic understanding of dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus
