Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various tools and equipment. This role involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of systems and machinery. The Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment and services.
Responsibilities
- Respond to Service Calls: Drive a service vehicle to provide emergency roadside assistance to customers who are stranded or facing vehicle issues.
- Battery Jump-starts: Safely jump-start vehicles using the appropriate equipment and procedures.
- Flat Tire Assistance: Change flat tires or help with tire inflation, ensuring the correct procedures are followed.
- Lock-out Services: Assist customers who are locked out of their vehicles, including using tools to safely unlock the car when necessary.
- Fuel Delivery: Deliver small amounts of fuel to customers who have run out, ensuring safe handling and accurate delivery.
- Minor Mechanical Assistance: Diagnose and provide minor mechanical troubleshooting on-site (e.g., issues with lights, fuses, or cooling systems).
- Documentation: Complete service forms and report details of every call, including work completed, parts used, and any follow-up actions needed.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers, offering clear instructions, empathy, and a professional demeanor during stressful situations.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols while driving, working on vehicles, and handling equipment. Ensure that all work is in compliance with company policies and local laws.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that your service vehicle and tools are maintained in good working order. Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to emergency calls outside of regular business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various systems.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices is a plus.
- A commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail is required.
