Relay Fire & Safety is growing our fire alarm team in Quincy, and we're looking for experienced Fire Alarm Technicians across both Service and Installation.
Maybe you're the technician everyone calls when a system won't cooperate.
Maybe you'd rather be on a project installing, wiring, testing, and bringing a new system online.
Or maybe you've done a little of both.
We're interested in talking to you.
We're building a strong fire alarm team in Greater Boston and have opportunities for technicians with backgrounds in fire alarm service, troubleshooting, inspection, installation, retrofit, programming, and commissioning.
You don't have to fit into one perfect box.
Where Could You Fit?Fire Alarm Service
If your strength is troubleshooting and service, your work may include:
- Diagnosing and repairing fire alarm system issues
- Responding to service calls and system deficiencies
- Troubleshooting panels, devices, circuits, communication issues, and related equipment
- Performing testing and system verification
- Completing repairs and system modifications
- Working directly with customers to explain issues and recommended solutions
- Maintaining accurate service documentation
Fire Alarm Installation & Retrofit
If you're more project-oriented, your work may include:
- Installing commercial fire alarm systems
- Fire alarm system upgrades and retrofits
- Installing panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, modules, and related equipment
- Wiring, terminating, testing, and commissioning systems
- Reading plans, drawings, and specifications
- Troubleshooting installations during startup and commissioning
- Coordinating with project teams, customers, and other trades
Have experience across both? Even better.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in technicians with commercial fire alarm experience at multiple skill levels.
Ideal experience may include:
- Commercial fire alarm service and/or installation experience
- Strong electrical and low-voltage troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read electrical drawings, blueprints, and fire alarm plans
- Knowledge of NFPA requirements and applicable fire alarm codes
- Experience testing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, or commissioning fire alarm systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Massachusetts electrical licensing applicable to fire alarm work is highly desired.
Experience with Edwards / EST systems, including EST3 and EST4, is especially valuable.
Experience with other major fire alarm platforms is also welcome.

Pay: $35.00 - $60.00 per hour
