Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Piano Cabinet Touch-Up Apprentice to join our piano restoration and service team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in craftsmanship, and wants to learn the specialized trade of piano cabinet repair and refinishing.
Experience in furniture repair, woodworking, finishing, painting, or touch-up work is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the repair and restoration of piano cabinets and finishes.
- Perform touch-up work on scratches, chips, dents, and finish imperfections.
- Learn color matching, staining, shading, and finish blending techniques.
- Prepare surfaces for repair and refinishing.
- Clean, polish, and detail pianos before delivery or customer return.
- Assist with moving and positioning pianos in the workshop when needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow quality standards to ensure professional results.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in woodworking, furniture repair, auto body touch-up, painting, or refinishing is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn specialized repair techniques.
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift and move materials and assist with piano handling as required.
