Early Steps Learning Center (ESLC)
Early Steps Learning Center is hiring a full-time Teacher Assistant to support our classrooms in a fun, high-quality early childhood education environment. In this role, you will assist lead teachers in creating a safe, engaging space where children can learn, grow, and prepare for kindergarten.

Program Overview
High-quality early childhood program serving children ages 6 weeks to 11 years
Committed to excellence through Step Up to Quality standards
Focus on whole-child development: social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth
Use of structured curriculum and play-based learning approaches
Key Responsibilities
Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom
Assist with implementing lesson plans and educational activities
Supervise children and ensure active engagement and safety at all times
Support daily routines, including:
Help promote children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom
Communicate professionally with team members and families
Follow all ODJFS licensing regulations and safety standards
Assist with classroom transitions, setup, and cleanup
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in a group setting
Caring, energetic, and reliable with a passion for working with children
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Preferred (Not Required)
Experience in a licensed childcare center
Coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field
Familiarity with Creative Curriculum
Experience supporting lesson planning or classroom activities
Certifications & Training
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Completion of all required state and center training
Must pass background check and medical requirements
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
Actively engage with children throughout the day
Sit, stand, bend, and move frequently
Maintain energy in a fast-paced classroom environment
