Environmental Technician Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Technician at the entry level to support quality control (QC) processes within pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in environmental science and regulatory compliance to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic production environment. Environmental Technician Duties
- Conduct routine environmental sampling and testing in manufacturing areas to ensure compliance with quality standards and environmental regulations.
- Assist in the collection, documentation, and analysis of environmental data related to water treatment, wastewater management, and air quality.
- Support laboratory activities including sample preparation, equipment calibration, and maintenance to ensure accurate testing results.
- Participate in the permitting phase of projects by gathering necessary data and supporting documentation for regulatory submissions.
- Maintain detailed records of testing procedures, results, and observations using Microsoft Office tools and technical writing skills.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on environmental compliance initiatives, including OSHA safety standards and EPA regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying potential issues related to environmental law adherence or process inefficiencies.
- Support outdoor work activities such as site inspections or field sampling while adhering to safety protocols and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) guidelines.
Environmental Technician Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in environmental science, chemistry, biology, or related field; prior laboratory or environmental field sampling experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of environmental law, environmental regulatory compliance, and relevant agencies such as EPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with excellent technical report writing capabilities.
- Experience practicing in an environmental science role with knowledge of water treatment systems, wastewater treatment, or oil & gas industries is advantageous.
- Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), AutoCAD, ArcGIS software, and project management tools is a plus.
- Ability to analyze data accurately and communicate findings effectively to clients or team members.
- Mechanical knowledge related to laboratory equipment or water treatment systems is desirable.
- Demonstrated outdoor work experience along with a commitment to safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Strong research skills combined with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities aimed at ensuring environmental compliance.
