Position Summary
Physical Therapy Aides play a vital role in our clinic, as they interact closely with patients and contribute significantly to their overall experience. Aides assist in patient flow, provide guidance and encouragement, and help ensure that each individual receives the highest level of care in line with the physical therapist’s plan.
Aides are also given the opportunity to learn key physical therapy and biomechanical principles through on-the-job training and regular education sessions with licensed therapists.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled shifts
- Greet and address patients by name upon arrival and throughout their care
- Assist with setting up patients for initial activities (e.g., bike warm-up, moist heat therapy)
- Support physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in guiding patients through exercises, offering verbal cues and corrections as directed
- Communicate effectively with patients, therapists, and administrative staff, including relaying messages and assisting with paperwork or insurance forms
- Help prevent lapses in care by guiding patients through insurance and documentation needs
- Perform opening and closing tasks (e.g., equipment shutdown, tidying up, preparing facility for the next day)
- Participate in regular training and learning sessions with staff therapists
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong interest in physical therapy or healthcare (ideal for pre-PT students)
- Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable with basic computer systems and EMR software
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Customer service experience is a plus
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced clinical environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
