Duties
- Conduct nutritional assessments and develop personalized patient treatment plans tailored to individual needs and cultural backgrounds.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to clients, emphasizing healthy eating habits, breastfeeding support, and lifestyle modifications.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) management systems to document patient interactions accurately and efficiently.
- Implement behavioral interventions to motivate positive health behaviors and address barriers to nutrition goals.
- Deliver patient care through both in-person visits and telehealth platforms, ensuring accessible support for all clients.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on wound care, hyperbaric medicine considerations, and other specialized treatments as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients about medical terminology and treatment options while fostering a welcoming environment that respects cultural diversity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related health field; registered dietitian (RD) credential preferred.
- Proven experience working with culturally diverse communities and understanding of cultural sensitivities in healthcare.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to nutrition and patient care.
- Experience managing electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote consultations and client engagement.
- Strong skills in patient communication, wound care, hyperbaric medicine basics, and behavioral interventions to support client success.
