Contracts Manager
M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is currently seeking a Contracts Manager. The ideal candidate must have a background in Contracts Management with legal knowledge, including construction submittals and reporting.
The Construction Contracts Manager is responsible for supporting effective administration, coordination, and commercial management of construction contracts from project award through completion. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal commercial teams to ensure contractual requirements are properly documented, communicated, and managed.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects, deadlines, and contractual obligations in a fast-paced construction environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer construction contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review contracts and identify key commercial, contractual, insurance, bonding, payment, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate contract files, correspondence, logs, and project documentation.
- Prepare, process, and track contract amendments, change orders, requests for information, notices, and other contractual correspondence.
- Prepare and review rental leases.
- Assist with the preparation, review, and processing of payment applications, invoices, lien waivers, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor contract deliverables, deadlines, renewal dates, notice requirements, retainage, and other critical contractual milestones.
- Coordinate with project management to ensure contractual requirements are understood and followed.
- Assist in managing subcontractor and vendor compliance, including insurance certificates, licenses, bonds, safety documentation, and other required credentials.
- Assist with contract closeout, including final payments, releases, warranties, as-built documentation, and retention requirements.
- Ensure documentation is complete, organized, and readily accessible for audits, disputes, and project closeout.
- Communicate professionally with owners, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist Project Managers with contractual research, issue resolution, and other commercial matters.
- Perform other duties related to construction contract administration as required.
- Contract review and development (owner/prime/subcontractor type contracts)
- Corporate License, registration, and business certification tracking
- Monitors contract compliance including (CPI and EPA type adjustments)
- Briefs management on assigned projects and give oral presentations as applicable
- Legal Liaison for corporate
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- An outstanding communicator, both orally and written
- Ability to multi-task and work with constant interruptions
- Self-Driven with the ability to take initiative.
- Ability to prioritize given tasks and work efficiently towards completing them
- Detail-oriented and exceptional organizational skills
- Experience with digital file management
- Strong problem solver and analytical thinker
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION:
- Full-Time, Salary Position
- Monday to Friday
- Salary is based on knowledge and experience.

EDUCATION:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years’ experience in contract administration
