Responsibilities
- Safely operate shuttle vehicles along specified routes, adhering strictly to traffic laws and company policies.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, providing friendly and professional customer service at all times.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before each shift, checking for maintenance issues, fuel levels, and safety equipment functionality.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, and route timings to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients using GPS navigation systems to optimize routes and address any on-the-road issues promptly.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as assisting with luggage or mobility aids for passengers with special needs.
- Follow all state transportation regulations, including those related to passenger vehicle operation and medical transportation if applicable.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, or in shuttle driving roles with a focus on passenger safety.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Experience operating passenger vans, medical transportation vehicles, or heavy-duty commercial vehicles such as limousines or school buses.
- Strong knowledge of traffic regulations, state transportation laws, and safety standards for passenger vehicles.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse clients.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while assisting passengers or managing luggage.
- Basic vehicle maintenance skills to identify potential issues early and ensure vehicle reliability during shifts.
