Position Summary
Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Manufacturing Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs within our manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing workplace injuries, and promoting a proactive safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procedures to identify, control, and eliminate workplace hazards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable federal and state safety regulations
- Reduce and eliminate OSHA violations through proactive programs and audits
- Lead safety committees and administer company-wide safety initiatives
- Incorporate safety training into new-hire onboarding and conduct ongoing employee safety training
- Perform regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and near misses; prepare reports and corrective action plans
- Manage the Workers’ Compensation program
- Maintain accurate safety records and submit required reports to regulatory agencies
- Analyze trends and recommend improvements to prevent future incidents
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–2 years of safety-related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred
- Basic First Aid certification and knowledge of Workers’ Compensation
- Advanced computer skills: Excel proficiency required
- Bilingual (preferred)
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
