Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Medical Transport Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation services for patients. This role involves operating a company vehicles, to ensure timely and comfortable patient transfers. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards. Experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or paratransit services is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to community health by facilitating essential medical appointments and treatments.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate the company vehicle
- Ensuring comfort and safety throughout the journey
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal operation
- Communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, and dispatchers to coordinate schedules and routes
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations during transportation duties
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist patients or load/unload equipment or mobility aids
- Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs
- Provide exceptional customer service by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and clear communication skills
Experience
- Prior experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or paratransit services is preferred
- Familiarity with heavy lifting and vehicle maintenance tasks is advantageous
- Experience with commercial driving licenses, driver certifications is a plus
- Proven ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety procedures, and vehicle operation regulations related to school bus driving or heavy-duty commercial driving is desirable
