About the Opportunity
SkySource Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Electrical Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with a leading power generation organization in Lake Mary, Florida.
This position serves as the technical lead for electrical engineering support throughout construction and commissioning activities for large-scale power generation projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with gas turbines, combined cycle power plants, electrical protection systems, high-voltage equipment, and commissioning practices.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary electrical engineering technical authority for construction and commissioning activities.
- Lead development, review, and approval of electrical installation, testing, and commissioning procedures.
- Validate electrical designs, analyses, and field execution for AC and DC systems.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, protection schemes, wiring diagrams, load lists, and equipment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
- Lead resolution of complex electrical, controls, integration, and commissioning issues.
- Support root cause analyses and implementation of corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance to site managers, contractors, vendors, and field service personnel.
- Oversee protection coordination studies, relay settings, short-circuit analyses, and construction support planning.
- Support grid interconnection activities and ensure compliance with regional grid requirements.
- Review and approve technical submittals, engineering change requests, bid evaluations, and equipment acceptance documentation.
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices in safety, quality, and technical excellence.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience supporting:
- Gas Turbine Facilities
- Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCGT)
- Large Power Generation Electrical Systems
- Extensive experience with:
- Electrical construction and commissioning
- Generator excitation systems
- Protection relays and protection schemes
- High-voltage distribution equipment
- Power plant electrical systems
- Electrical troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and power plant safety requirements.
- Ability to travel up to 20-30% domestically and internationally.
Preferred
- Experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
- Knowledge of ISO procedures and quality management systems.
- Grid interconnection and grid code compliance experience.
