Pacific CARE Pet Emergency & Specialty is seeking an additional board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Surgeon to join our growing specialty team in Irvine. This is an opportunity to step into an established surgical service while helping shape the continued growth of a modern, multispecialty hospital with a strong emphasis on collaboration and comprehensive patient care.
Pacific CARE is a 12,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art multispecialty and 24/7 emergency hospital offering Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Cardiology. With multiple specialty services under one roof, surgeons have the opportunity to collaborate closely on complex cases and provide patients with comprehensive care without unnecessary transfers.
The hospital is equipped to support advanced surgical medicine, including two dedicated surgery suites, CT, ultrasound, ICU and isolation capabilities, high-flow oxygen, and minimally invasive surgical and scoping equipment. The team also emphasizes close collaboration between Surgery, Critical Care, and Internal Medicine, creating a strong environment for complex case management.

In your day-to-day, you will:
- Balance time between consultations, case workups, and surgical procedures
- Perform orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries using available imaging and surgical equipment
- Collaborate with Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, and other specialty teams to support integrated case management
- Utilize advanced imaging and diagnostic capabilities, including CT and ultrasound, to support comprehensive surgical case planning
- Work alongside a dedicated surgical nursing and support team
- Help develop and grow the surgical service in line with hospital priorities
- Develop strong relationships with referring veterinarians throughout Orange County
- Mentor technicians and support staff as part of daily case management
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning
What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California veterinary licensure
- Board Certification in Small Animal Surgery (DACVS) or residency trained in Small Animal Surgery and board eligible
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
- A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine
- An interest in contributing to the continued growth of a surgical referral service
