Accomack County is currently recruiting for a part-time Volleyball Activities Coordinator in the Parks and Recreation Department. The purpose of the position is to manage all Volleyball league program at Sawmill Park and/or other locations where the Parks and Recreation division conducts sports-related programs. Employees in this classification perform administrative work. This position is responsible for the Volleyball league program along with the planning; the preparation and processing of reports, forms, and correspondence that will go along with this program; the monitoring of Volleyball events schedules; and ensuring the locations (grounds, fields, and areas of the parks, and/or gyms) are ready for the scheduled event and program. Schedule will be no more than 29 hours a week.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) to three (3) years of experience in event planning, management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred qualifications: Sports league or sports event planning experience; Certified in first-aid and CPR; Bilingual capabilities a plus.
Satisfactory completion of a background check, medical exam including drug screening and DMV records checks are required prior to employment. DMV records check will be performed annually thereafter.
