Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant Manager to join our vibrant restaurant team. Hours include nights and weekends. Bilingual a plus. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering exceptional dining experiences by overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service during all shifts
- Supervise and motivate staff members, including training new team members and conducting ongoing development sessions
- Oversee food preparation processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Manage inventory control to minimize waste and ensure adequate stock levels for all menu items
- Operate POS system for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Enforce food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures across the kitchen and front-of-house areas
- Coordinate shift management, including scheduling staff and monitoring performance to meet operational goals
- Support kitchen management by supervising food production, catering, banquets, or bar services as needed
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to ensure a positive dining experience
- Assist with budgeting tasks and cost control initiatives to optimize restaurant profitability
- Lead staff training programs focused on food service management, hospitality standards, and safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant
Experience
- Proven experience in restaurant management or assistant manager roles within quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining environments
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for transactions and reporting
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with team management, interviewing, training & development
- Knowledge of inventory control practices, budgeting, and food safety regulations
- Experience working in fine dining or hotel settings is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative team environment
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on delivering memorable guest experiences
