We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Umpire to lead our officiating team and ensure the highest standards of fairness, integrity, and professionalism during sporting events. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of umpires, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure consistent officiating excellence.
- Manage all aspects of game officiating operations, including scheduling shifts, coordinating event logistics, and ensuring adherence to rules and safety protocols.
- Oversee staff supervision during events, ensuring proper conduct, timely decision-making, and effective communication across all levels of operation.
- Collaborate with event management teams to plan and execute seamless sporting events at various venues, ensuring smooth flow and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed reports on game incidents, officiating decisions, and operational activities; utilize report writing skills for documentation purposes.
- Handle operational responsibilities such as budgeting for officiating needs, managing equipment inventory, and ensuring compliance with venue policies.
- Provide first aid or CPR when necessary during events to ensure safety; coordinate with medical personnel if required.
Skills
- Extensive experience in umpiring or similar officiating positions within sports or event management environments.
- Proven leadership skills with a strong background in staff supervision and team management.
- Excellent organizational abilities with experience in managing event venues and overseeing large-scale sporting events.
- Strong managerial decision-making skills combined with effective managerial communication to lead teams confidently.
- Exceptional customer service skills to enhance guest experiences during events; adept at handling guest inquiries professionally.
- Experience in shift management, operations management, budgeting, and hospitality settings such as resorts or restaurants is highly desirable.
- Technical proficiency with sports equipment and venue technology; familiarity with health & safety protocols including first aid and CPR certification is a plus.

Location
This position is based in Tetonia, Idaho. Candidates must either live within a reasonable driving distance of Tetonia or be willing to relocate before their employment start date. To support our seasonal operations during the busy summer tournament season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), onsite housing and meals may be provided for qualified team members, depending on availability and operational needs.
