Experienced Prep Cook
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Prep Cook with strong knife skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen. The ideal candidate works efficiently, follows recipes accurately, and consistently meets food-quality and sanitation standards.
Responsibilities
- Wash, peel, cut, slice, dice, mince, and portion ingredients accurately and efficiently.
- Demonstrate safe, professional knife handling and proper cutting techniques.
- Prepare meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, dressings, and other ingredients according to recipes and production lists.
- Maintain consistent portion sizes and presentation standards.
- Clean and sanitize knives, cutting boards, utensils, equipment, prep tables, floors, sinks, and storage areas.
- Prevent cross-contamination by following proper food-handling and allergen procedures.
- Label, date, rotate, and store food using FIFO procedures.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and report shortages or quality concerns.
- Remove trash, wash dishes, and assist with opening and closing cleaning duties.
- Follow all health department, food-safety, and workplace-safety requirements.
- Support cooks and kitchen leadership during busy service periods.
Qualifications
- Previous professional prep-cook or kitchen experience required.
- Excellent knife skills, including safe and consistent chopping, slicing, dicing, mincing, and julienne cuts.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen sanitation, cross-contamination prevention, and food-storage procedures.
- Ability to follow recipes, measurements, and verbal instructions accurately.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, including around heat, water, and cleaning chemicals.

Projected Total Compensation: Up to $50,000.00 per year
