Intermodal Dispatcher – NY/NJ Ports
About Us
We operate a fleet of 15 asset-based trucks servicing the NY/NJ ports, transporting cargo throughout the Northeast. We are a growing team focused on efficiency, reliability, and strong communication with our drivers and customers.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily container pickups from port terminals and deliveries to customers
- Communicate with drivers to manage schedules, routes, and issues in real time
- Schedule and confirm warehouse delivery appointments
- Maintain and update spreadsheets for import/export orders
- Track vessel ETAs and sailing schedules
- Monitor container Last Free Days (LFDs) at terminals
- Track return locations for empty containers
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery status and updates
Requirements
- Dispatch experience (intermodal preferred)
- Knowledge of NY/NJ ports and Northeast routes
- Organized, responsive, and able to multitask
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and tracking systems
Ideal Candidate
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
- Flexible with work hours (this is not a strict 9–5 role)
- Willing to work extended hours when needed
- Motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Open to sharing ideas to improve operations and efficiency
