JK Communications and Construction, Inc., DBA Kleven Construction has been in the Valley of the Sun for over 20 years and has completed projects all over the valley and beyond. Our organization provides directional drilling, open cut trenching, excavation and other services required to place/run conduit for various utilities primarily focusing on fiber optics for telecommunications. We are currently seeking a full-time, reliable and motivated superintendent with underground utility experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following:
- The ability to manage multiple crews of up to 25 employees performing work at different sites.
- Supervise workers and perform duties related to the completion of conduit installation projects.
- Schedule crews and projects in order to complete them within assigned deadlines.
- Participate in Work In Progress and Construction meetings.
- Interface with Senior Management and be able to provide updates on projects.
- Provide input and assist with bidding new jobs.
- Ability to operate a directional drill, locating system, fiber puller, trencher, excavation equipment.
- Place employees in specific tasks to best contribute to the successful completion of the job.
- Scheduling employees and approving timesheets
- Supervise workers to ensure work is completed efficiently and within quality standards.
- Gain knowledge of all projects or operations and fill in as necessary.
- Conduct thorough daily safety meetings.
- Employee and client safety is our number one priority.
- Oversight of foremen, operators, locator, laborers, etc.
- Interface and provide friendly efficient communication with our customers in the field as well as inspectors and other individuals involved in our projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
This position is accountable for quality control, safety, and keeping production on schedule. Excellent communication skills and organization is required. The ability to work with others is of the utmost importance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages/Supervises multiple crews of up to 25 subordinate employees. Generally, each crew will be managed directly by a foreman, with this position managing the foreman/crews as needed. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees.
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a safe and timely manner.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- CDL (preferred)
- Will be required to be completed if hired (training paid by company)
- Competent Person Certificate (preferred)
- OSHA Certificate (preferred)
- Will be required to be completed if hired (training paid by company)
