Salary: $140-172K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Plant Engineer: As the Plant Engineer, you will lead the maintenance and engineering department in a fast-paced plant to ensure top-tier building and equipment performance. Your responsibilities include reducing mechanical downtime, ensuring seamless product flow, and maintaining peak efficiency in production lines. You will develop and implement advanced maintenance systems like Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and more to drive the plant to new heights as part of a High-Performing Manufacturing Organization. Additionally, you will oversee engineering activities to maintain a state-of-the-art food manufacturing process by executing innovative technology projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Plant Engineer:
- Take ownership of capital projects from concept to completion, managing and scheduling all project elements to ensure minimal disruption to plant operations, delivering projects on time and on budget while maintaining safety, food safety, and environmental standards.
- Lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge maintenance systems to keep the plant operating at peak performance, including Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and other high-impact strategies.
- Manage the maintenance team by delegating tasks, enforcing policies, and guiding work assignments to ensure efficient and safe completion of work.
- Provide short-term fixes and long-term solutions to operational challenges, troubleshooting issues, conducting problem analysis, and addressing equipment failures to maintain smooth daily plant operation.
- Drive continuous improvement by developing and tracking Key Performance Indicators that measure maintenance function success, including equipment reliability, supplier performance, and overall equipment effectiveness.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Plant Engineer:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2+ years of team management/development or project leadership experience required.
High level of leadership, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability skills.
Advanced technical skills in mechanical/electrical fields and ability to lead resource planning efforts in a large manufacturing environment.
Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order process, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc.
Ability to use exposure monitoring equipment, interpret and communicate results.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
Clear and concise communication skills in both written and oral formats.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, technical, and presentation skills required.
