The Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks to ensure school and parish facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate supports a positive learning environment by maintaining the physical campus, helping with routine repair requests, and ensuring the buildings comply with all state, local, and OSHA safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· General Maintenance & Repair: Reports to the Director of Buildings and Property. Cleans school building and performs routine maintenance on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, doors, locks, windows, and ceiling tiles. Assists in the upkeep of facilities, systems, and equipment (such as HVAC filters, lighting, and fire alarms).
· Campus Grounds Upkeep: Assist with seasonal groundskeeping, including lawn care, debris removal, snow shoveling, and salting sidewalks and parking lots.
· Event Set-Up & Tear Down: Arrange and dismantle folding tables, chairs, staging, and athletic equipment for school events and assemblies.
· Work Order Management: Completes daily maintenance and cleaning requests and duties as assigned by Supervisor.
· Safety & Compliance: Adheres to all safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment and ensure hazardous materials are handled safely.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical or trade school certification is highly preferred.
· Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial, educational, or residential maintenance.
· Skills: Basic working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems a plus
· Licensing: Valid driver's license required.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
· Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50-75 lbs frequently (e.g., salt bags, furniture, equipment).
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in varied indoor/outdoor climates.
· Flexibility to work irregular or extended hours (including occasional evenings/weekends or during emergency weather conditions).
· Must pass a background check and complete all required trainings.

Position is a full-time, hourly position- flexible hours but most likely afternoon-evening time. Pay ranges from $16-22/hour depending on experience. Health benefits and 403b retirement plan are offered.
