OmicronVis is hiring a Systems Engineer to support U.S. Navy command and control programs under Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR). The work is Foreign Military Sales. We build and integrate maritime surveillance and C2 capability for a partner nation, then go stand it up in their country.
You will not own one screen of one system. In a given month you might be integrating radar and sensors, aerostats, unmanned air and undersea systems, sonar, communications vehicles, and microwave towers, and making all of it feed one common operational picture. Then you brief it to a Combatant Commander or a partner-nation delegation.
The technical core
This seat sits where the network meets the C2 application. You need real hands on both.
- LAN and WAN, TCP/IP, routing and switching
- Windows and Linux server administration
- Virtualization, VMware ESXi and vSphere
- Integration, configuration, and troubleshooting of the delivered baseline, from the rack up
- Requirements definition and tracing, interface definition, and test and verification planning
- Coordinating engineering across program offices and project leads, then briefing the result
If you have built, configured, and then defended a system in front of the customer who has to operate it, that is this job.
Who tends to do well here
Network and systems engineers who moved into a systems engineering seat. People who have stood up infrastructure at a Navy warfare center or on a shipboard baseline. Anyone who has taken a capability from requirements through installation and site acceptance. Navy and Joint veterans with a technical degree.

Eligibility
- Active DoD SECRET clearance or higher (active, not expired or reinstatable)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a closely related technical field
- 3 to 8 years of systems engineering and network engineering on Navy C4I or comparable DoD command and control programs
- Able to work on-site in San Diego 4 days per week and travel up to 20 percent
- U.S. citizenship, required to obtain and maintain the clearance
Strongly preferred: Security+, CCNA, and DoD 8570 or 8140 compliance. Also helpful: GCCS-M or GCCS-J, Link 16/11 or JREAP, CANES or ADNS, maritime domain awareness, FMS or Security Cooperation experience, OCONUS field engineering and SOVT.
One thing to know before you apply. In the interview we will ask you to walk us through one integration you owned, end to end, in your own words. Not the program's mission, your part in it.

Pay: $94,717.13 - $144,067.94 per year
