We are seeking an experienced Production/Fabrication Manager to lead our production team and oversee all aspects of sign fabrication, scheduling, quality control, and shop operations.

Position Summary
The Production/Fabrication Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing daily manufacturing operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This role works closely with sales, project management, design, purchasing, and installation teams to maintain smooth workflow from approved drawings through final installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day production and fabrication operations.
- Lead, coach, and develop production personnel while fostering a positive team environment.
- Schedule production to meet customer deadlines and maximize shop efficiency.
- Oversee fabrication of custom interior and exterior signage, including:
- Channel letters
- Cabinets
- Monument signs
- ADA signage
- Dimensional lettering
- Vinyl graphics
- Wayfinding systems
- Monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.
- Coordinate purchasing and inventory of materials and shop supplies.
- Manage equipment maintenance and recommend capital equipment improvements.
- Review production drawings and collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve fabrication issues.
- Track production metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Assist with hiring, training, performance evaluations, and employee development.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe production facility.
Qualifications
- Production management experience in the custom sign industry or related manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of custom sign fabrication methods and materials.
- Experience supervising fabrication, welding, paint, electrical assembly, CNC routing, vinyl application, and final assembly processes.
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop drawings.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- CAD experience preferred
- UL certification preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with aluminum fabrication and welding.
- Familiarity with LED illumination systems.
- Knowledge of large-format digital printing and vinyl production.
- Understanding of permitting and installation processes.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
