Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Texas Licensed Dietitian to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, including diagnostic evaluation and nutritional analysis.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to patients’ specific dietary needs, medical conditions, and lifestyle factors.
- Provide nutrition counseling and health coaching to motivate patients toward healthier behaviors and weight management goals.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, and therapists to coordinate care and ensure effective medical nutrition therapy (MNT).
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately for documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and nutrition support activities like tube feeding.
- Supervise dietary department staff when applicable, ensuring adherence to clinical nutrition standards and protocols.
- Stay current with physiology knowledge and best practices in clinical nutrition to deliver evidence-based care for diverse populations including geriatrics, patients with chronic diseases, or those requiring specialized dietary interventions such as tube feeding or nutrition support.
Requirements
- Valid Texas license as a Licensed Dietitian (LD).
- Proven experience working with individuals with specific dietary needs in settings such as hospitals or long-term care facilities.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, clinical nutrition principles, and medical nutrition therapy (MNT).
- Experience with chronic disease management including weight loss programs and acute care scenarios.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management.
- Excellent client communication skills combined with motivational interviewing techniques to foster positive behavioral changes.
- Supervising experience preferred for leadership roles within dietary or clinical teams.
- Familiarity with dietary department operations, nutrition counseling strategies, and long-term care protocols is highly desirable.
