Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and maintain CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise in machining tools, programming, and measurement will ensure the highest quality standards are met while adhering to safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machining equipment, including lathes and milling machines, ensuring precise execution of complex parts.
- Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and SolidWorks for efficient production runs.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately, utilizing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for quality assurance.
- Perform machine calibration, tooling changes, and adjustments to optimize machining processes for accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments for quality control.
- Troubleshoot machining issues promptly, making manual adjustments or machine setup modifications as needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, inspection reports, and machine maintenance logs to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software like SolidWorks and other design tools for part programming.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Hands-on experience with measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality inspection.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, tooling setup, manual machining techniques, grinders, power tools, and basic math skills for precise measurements.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficient workflow and waste reduction.
