American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level III Trauma Center in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of recent emergency department experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Works in a 54-bed Emergency Department designated as a Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
-
Serves all age groups with more than 60,000 patient visits annually
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3–4 for all other patients
-
Mid shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
-
36 or 48 hours per week available
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required

Floating to other units and hospitals is required

EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
-
Active AL or compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted

No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed

Associate degree in nursing required
-
Minimum 2 years of experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in emergency department nursing

Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC

SECURE on-site certification required

Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Current driver's license required for consideration

ED team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff providing 24/7 emergency care
-
All ED RNs are required to complete both an online pre-test and an on-site assessment
-
No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation

Solid navy scrubs required
