Responsibilities
- Supervise and facilitate daily play sessions, ensuring dogs are engaged, safe, and well-behaved during group activities
- Ability to create proper dog play groups that provide the safest environment for our dogs as well as our team members
- Implement dog training techniques to promote good manners and social skills
- Handle dogs with care, using animal restraint techniques when necessary to ensure safety for all pets and staff
- Assist with pet grooming, basic health checks, and administering medication as directed by veterinary professionals
- Maintain a clean and organized environment by cleaning kennels, play areas, and equipment regularly
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their dog’s behavior and needs
- Support veterinary technicians or assistants in handling animals that require special veterinary or medical attention
- Other duties as defined by the needs of the business.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in dog daycares, dog behaviors, handling, or kennel work is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dog training methods and animal behavior management techniques
- Veterinary experience or veterinary technician background is a plus
- Familiarity with pet grooming, animal restraint, and basic pet care practices
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with larger dogs
- Demonstrated animal handling skills with patience and confidence in managing various temperaments
