Summary:
ARC Specialties, a manufacturer of robotic and automated machinery has a need for an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join our team in Houston, TX to mechanically assemble and install custom machinery. This is a full-time position with benefits. Some travel may be required to install final product in customer facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Mount, install, align, and secure machine components, operating various power hand tools.
· Assemble, dismantle and overhaul machinery, conveyor systems, belt pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems, shafting, precision bearings, gear boxes, sheet metal covers, etc.
· Assemble and relocate machines and equipment to the desired location according to floor plans, or as directed, using forklifts, hoists, winches, cranes, pulleys and other equipment.
· Performs preventive maintenance before, during, and prior to shipment by following the provided assembly checklist. This includes but is not limited to greasing rails, ball screws, bearings, and seals.
· Work in a team to complete projects in a timely and safe manner.
· Ability to quickly adapt to multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
· Wear proper PPE including safety shoes and safety glasses.
· Work hours as directed.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Must be able to read blue prints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
· Ability to properly move machinery and equipment using cranes, hoists, pulleys, and forklifts
· Knowledge and ability to properly use tools and equipment such as drill presses, power saws, chain falls, jacks, skids, slings, burning torches, and other types of portable and hand tools
· Ability to clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment and machinery
· Troubleshooting, calibration, and testing of equipment to ensure it operates optimally
· Ability to perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task
· Must understand how machinery functions to assemble and disassemble it properly. This involves knowledge of blueprints, technical drawings, pneumatics and hydraulics.
· Must have a personal roll-around toolbox stocked with essential tools, including specialized equipment such as calipers, dial indicators, and a pneumatic impact wrench.
