Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments by monitoring vital signs, conducting physical examinations, and evaluating patient needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and catheter care.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as specimen collection, processing, and basic medical imaging procedures.
- Maintain detailed medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like GEO to ensure compliance with HIPAA and long-term care regulations.
- Support patients with activities of daily living, including tube feeding, wound dressing, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and providing specialized care as the treatment needs arises
- Respond promptly to urgent situations such as acute pain management or airway management needs in emergency or ICU settings.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification.
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments to include (pediatric experience preferred), skilled nursing facilities, or home & community care settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology and infection control protocols.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems such as GEO; proficiency in medical documentation is essential.
- Ability to perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, catheterization, sterile techniques, and basic life support (BLS/CPR).
- Critical care experience including pediatric or emergency medicine is highly desirable; familiarity with trauma centers or pediatric units is a plus.
- Excellent caregiver communication skills with the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages—including geriatrics and pediatrics—and their families.
- Knowledge of pain management techniques, hospice care principles, and infectious disease protocols enhances your candidacy.
