The University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks outstanding candidates for multiple faculty positions within the Division of General, Geriatric, and Palliative Medicine. These positions support UVA Health’s continued expansion of primary care services and offer the opportunity to join a collaborative academic practice committed to excellence in patient care, medical education, and professional development.
Successful candidates will provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care at one of UVA Health’s established outpatient practices in Charlottesville or Orange, Virginia. Current practice locations include:
- University Medicine Associates
- University Physicians Charlottesville
- University Physicians Orange
Faculty responsibilities will primarily consist of outpatient clinical care. Depending upon the candidate’s interests, experience, and the needs of the Division, responsibilities may also include:
- Teaching and supervising medical students, residents, and other learners;
- Participating in quality improvement, population health, clinical program development, or other scholarly activities;
- Contributing to the academic and service missions of the Division and Department of Medicine; and
- Attending on the general internal medicine inpatient service approximately two to four weeks per year.
The selected candidates will be appointed at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor on a tenure-eligible, tenured, or non-tenure-eligible track, as appropriate. Faculty rank, track, and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and academic accomplishments.
The Division of General, Geriatric, and Palliative Medicine is part of the University of Virginia Department of Medicine and supports a broad portfolio of clinical, educational, scholarly, and community-focused programs.
