Principal Application Engineer

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support the design and implementation of critical power infrastructure solutions for data center and mission-critical environments. This role serves as a technical liaison between customers, sales teams, engineering, and operations, ensuring that solutions are designed, documented, and delivered to meet project requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical power distribution systems, data center infrastructure, and customer-facing engineering support.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to develop technical solutions based on customer requirements.
- Prepare proposals, technical submittals, and project documentation for customer review and approval.
- Support project execution from order entry through manufacturing, delivery, and startup.
- Develop and review technical drawings, specifications, and compliance documentation.
- Provide technical guidance on power distribution systems and critical power applications.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during installation, commissioning, and operation.
- Deliver technical presentations and training sessions for customers and industry partners.
- Support product testing, application development, and competitive analysis initiatives.
- Gather customer feedback and communicate recommendations for product improvements.
- Travel to customer and project sites as needed (approximately 25–35%).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application engineering, design engineering, or field engineering within electrical power systems or data center infrastructure.
- At least 2 years of experience using AutoCAD for technical drafting and design.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution equipment, switchboards, power distribution units (PDUs), static transfer switches (STS), and redundancy concepts such as N+1 and 2N architectures.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically as required.
