We are seeking an Automation Technician to diagnose and resolve complex automation and control system failures on marine vessels. This is a hands-on field role focused on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of PLC-based and integrated electrical control systems.
This position requires strong technical ability, independent field work, and experience working with complex automation systems. This role is not focused on repetitive installation or programming tasks.
$30–$42 per hour (DOE) + overtime + bonus
Troubleshoot and repair marine automation and control systems
Diagnose issues involving:
Perform testing, fault isolation, and root cause analysis
Diagnose complex, multi-system failures across automation and electrical systems
Support system upgrades, modifications, and performance improvements
Communicate with clients, vessel personnel, and internal teams
Complete service documentation and reports accurately
Minimum 5 years of automation, controls, electrical systems, or related field service experience
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills (required)
Experience working with PLC-based systems
Ability to work independently in field environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with Codesys or similar PLC platforms
Marine or yacht automation experience
Experience with integrated electrical and control systems
Industrial automation or controls background
Field-based role working on vessels, shipyards, and marine facilities
Ability to work in confined spaces and variable environmental conditions
Exposure to marine environments and noise
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
Work on advanced automation systems in the marine industry
Focus on diagnostics and troubleshooting—not repetitive installs
