Position Overview
Wellspring Health Access is seeking a creative, data-driven, and mission-focused Marketing & Communications Manager to lead our digital communications strategy, grow our national audience, and generate online revenue in support of expanding abortion access throughout the United States.
This position is responsible for managing all digital communications channels, including website content, email marketing, social media, digital fundraising campaigns, and online brand management. The successful candidate will increase public engagement, grow Wellspring's supporter base, and raise a minimum of $100,000 annually through online fundraising efforts.
The ideal candidate is both a storyteller and strategist who understands how to build movements, inspire action, and convert digital engagement into donor support.
Primary Responsibilities
Digital Fundraising & Revenue Generation
- Develop and implement digital fundraising campaigns that generate a minimum of $100,000 annually in online revenue.
- Create compelling social media appeals, peer-to-peer campaigns, and online giving initiatives in collaboration with Development Department.
- Collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy & Strategic Partnerships on donor acquisition and retention strategies.
- Monitor and optimize conversion rates, donor acquisition costs, and return on investment across digital fundraising channels.
- Develop year-end, giving day, emergency response, and matching gift campaigns in collaboration with Development Associate Lead.
Email Marketing & List Growth
- Develop strategies to significantly grow Wellspring's email list and supporter database.
- Manage email acquisition campaigns, lead generation efforts, petitions, advocacy actions, and online engagement opportunities.
- Create and execute email marketing calendars and supporter journeys.
- Segment audiences and personalize communications to improve engagement and fundraising performance.
- Monitor email open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, and list growth metrics. Create reports for executive team showing this data.
Website Management
- Serve as primary administrator for the Wellspring Health Access website.
- Ensure content remains current, accurate, engaging, and mission-focused.
- Create and update website pages, landing pages, donation pages, and campaign content in collaboration with Leadership Team.
- Optimize website performance, user experience, and search engine visibility (SEO).
- Track website analytics and recommend improvements to increase engagement and donations.
Social Media Management
- Manage Wellspring's and President’s presence across all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Bluesky, YouTube, Tiktok, and emerging channels.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar.
- Create compelling graphics, videos, and written content that advance organizational goals.
- Grow social media audiences and increase engagement through strategic storytelling and audience development.
- Monitor trends and opportunities to elevate Wellspring's and President’s visibility nationally.
Communications & Storytelling
- Develop content highlighting patient impact, reproductive freedom, and organizational accomplishments.
- Draft blogs, newsletters, , and campaign materials.
- Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all communication channels.
- Collaborate with Leadership to amplify organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Help solidify Wellspring and President as a thought-leader in the larger movement.
Analytics & Reporting
- Establish annual digital growth goals and key performance indicators.
- Produce monthly reports measuring:
- Email list growth
- Website traffic
- Social media growth and engagement
- Online fundraising revenue
- Digital campaign performance
- Utilize data to continuously improve communications and fundraising effectiveness.
Annual Performance Goals
The Marketing & Communications Manager will be expected to:
- Raise a minimum of $100,000 annually through online giving
- Increase email subscriber list by at least 25% annually
- Increase social media audience by at least 20% annually
- Improve email engagement metrics year-over-year
- Increase website traffic and donor conversion rates
- Strengthen Wellspring's national visibility as a leader in expanding abortion access
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, advocacy communications, or fundraising.
- Demonstrated success growing email lists and digital audiences.
- Experience managing websites and content management systems.
- Experience with email marketing platforms and donor CRMs.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Experience with social media management and digital advertising.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and digital performance reporting.
- Passion for reproductive freedom, healthcare access, and social justice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in reproductive health, healthcare, advocacy, or political organizations.
- Graphic design and video editing experience.
- Experience with NationBuilder, EveryAction, Action Network, Salesforce, Bloomerang, or similar platforms.
- Experience managing digital fundraising campaigns generating six-figure revenue.
Compensation
Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually, depending on experience.
