Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Gym Supervisor to add to our team. The Gym Supervisor supports the Athletic Director by providing on-site supervision for student-athletes participating in Potter Junior High School athletics. The Gym Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and positive environment before, during, and after practices and games. This position serves as the primary adult supervisor during athletic activities, ensuring students follow program expectations while supporting coaches, officials, and families.
Responsibilities
- Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and games.
- Ensure students are safely checked in and released according to program procedures.
- Maintain appropriate behavior and enforce program rules, sportsmanship, and facility expectations.
- Build positive relationships with students while serving as a positive role model.
- Assist the Athletic Director and coaches with the setup and breakdown of practices and games.
- Prepare athletic equipment and ensure facilities are clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Monitor the gymnasium, athletic fields, locker rooms, and surrounding areas during athletic activities.
- Report facility concerns, equipment needs, injuries, or behavioral issues to the Athletic Director.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow all established safety procedures.
- Ensure athletic equipment is properly stored and maintained after each event.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with youth in athletics, recreation, education, or after-school programs preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently while supporting a team.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced situations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on practice and game schedules, primarily Monday through Friday between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing and background screenings.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
