Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors using buffing machines, floor buffers, and other floor care equipment to maintain a polished appearance.
- Handle chemical agents safely for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, following all safety protocols.
- Conduct janitorial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, restroom sanitation, and surface disinfecting.
- Assist with industrial cleaning projects that may involve heavy lifting and manual handling of equipment or supplies.
- Maintain facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks including minor repairs, custodial upkeep, and general upkeep of cleaning tools and supplies.
- Follow safe lifting practices when moving heavy objects or equipment to prevent injury.
- Support residential painting projects or other light maintenance duties as needed to ensure facility upkeep.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, buffers, or other floor care machinery.
- Knowledge of chemical agents used in cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to manual handling and heavy lifting.
- Experience with facilities maintenance or porter duties is a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safe practices.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards across various environments.
