POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordination of raw materials and purchase parts receipts so products are received inspected and located in system within 24 hours from physical delivery. Stages product for assembly lines and potentially other manufacturing work areas to meet customer delivery expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant using a hand-jack, Hilo, and/or assisted pallet jack.
- Pull, stage, and deliver parts according to pick list or work schedule to appropriate line or drop location.
- Collaborate with material handlers to coordinate supplies within supermarket area.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Reconciles receiving/purchasing documentation (verify slips with physical delivery) with appropriate purchasing agent.
- Completes incoming inspection measurement per OMT-Veyhl prints with confirmation of certificate of conformance, placing a green inspection with part number and date on product. Notifies Quality of any discrepancies and/or non-conforming products.
- Completes receiving entries in NAV computer system. Each receipt must have documentation (packing slip, etc.) to support NAV computer system entries.
- Notifies and/or delivers incoming product to end users.
- Organizes raw material and critical supply inventories.
- Conducts cycle counting and actual physical counts of raw material and provides appropriate reporting when required.
- May package product to be returned to supplier(s).
- May shuttle parts to and from suppliers and customers or within plant.
- Picks parts for the supermarket according to printed tags and delivers to proper storage location.
- Prioritize workload based on OMT-Veyhl priorities and goals.
- Conducts general housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read prints/drawings
- Ability to use tape measure and calipers
- Hilo driver’s license
- Ability to use ERP systems, email, Microsoft Office and Excel
- Valid Michigan driver’s license
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be team player
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma preferred.
- One to three years of experience shipping/receiving, inventory management, and quality inspection preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange accurate information with co-workers.
- The employee is required to occasionally remain in a stationary position and frequently required to traverse the facility for extended periods of time.
- The employee occasionally is occasionally required to ascend/descend and position themselves around a desk, filing cabinets, shelving, and other equipment/components.
- The employee must be capable of lifting and/or transporting components weighing up to 10 - 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to perceive items up close, observe items in the distance, distinguish between color, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Position will function in a factory environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
- The work environment is occasionally dusty.
