Responsibilities
- Process payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for all employees.
- Perform detailed data entry related to employee hours, benefits, tax information, and deductions while maintaining data integrity.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping.
- Administer benefits programs and assist with benefits administration tasks related to payroll deductions and enrollments.
- Manage compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations by preparing tax filings and maintaining proper documentation.
- Collaborate with human resources to ensure accurate employee records within HRIS systems like Kronos or PeopleSoft.
- Support governmental accounting requirements by preparing reports for audits and ensuring adherence to non-profit or governmental accounting standards where applicable.
Requirements
- Proven experience with payroll management software such as Reynolds and Reynolds
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits, journal entries, and bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to accounts payable/receivable, tax experience, and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms for financial data processing.
- Excellent analysis skills for reviewing payroll data, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues efficiently.
- Ability to perform high-volume data entry with precision using 10 key typing skills.
- Understanding of human resources processes and compliance requirements related to payroll and employee records.
