Reports to: QA Manager
Role Description:
The Production Floor QC Technician will be responsible for facilitating, monitoring, and implementing quality systems and activities to support commercial production and scale up trials. The technician will also support Food Safety/HACCP, non-conformance tracking, sanitation/cleaning/CIP programs, GMP programs and inventory keeping.
Responsibilities
§ Carry out the daily procedures for product safety, legality, and quality
§ Perform daily sanitation pre-op inspections and routine allergen cleanliness verification
§ Perform sampling procedures on raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods to conduct quality checks for specification compliance
§ Perform routine quality control test procedures, including aw, viscosity, pH, moisture content, sorbate, net weights, package code, label inspections, package quality
§ Perform routine equipment calibrations on various equipment (pH meter, scales, thermometer, etc.)
§ Perform routine HACCP monitoring- verify CP and CCP of multiple lines and products
§ Perform routine environmental swabs for equipment, environment, air, and water.
§ Maintain ingredient inventory in wherefour platform.
§ Assist with formula scale up testing-batch testing on production floor.
§ Assist with collection, entry, and analysis of plant trial and production data to be used for continuous improvement
§ Maintain accurate documentation of all test results, inspections, observations, corrective actions and other activities that affect product safety, legality, and quality
§ Actively and effectively communicate with cross functional team
§ Carry out other activities as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
§ High School diploma and 3+ years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment
§ Working knowledge of HACCP and food safety & quality systems
§ Knowledge on sanitation and environmental monitoring program
§ Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
§ Driven, self-starter, able to work on various projects and roles in a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup environment
§ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an intimate team
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
