Job Summary
The Dietary Aide assists in the preparation and service of meals to residents, patients, or customers while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. This role supports dietary staff in meeting nutritional guidelines and ensuring high-quality food service.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with food preparation, including washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients
Serve meals in accordance with dietary plans and portion control guidelines
Deliver meals to residents or patients, if required
Set up and clean dining areas before and after meal service
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas
Follow all food safety and infection control procedures
Store food properly and monitor expiration dates
Assist with inventory and stocking supplies
Communicate with kitchen staff and supervisors regarding dietary needs or issues
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous food service or kitchen experience is a plus
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
