American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring prior charge experience, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and an active TX or compact RN license.

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)

13-week travel contract

Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting

Patient ratio of 1:2

Facility delivering 100–200 births per month (200–300 preferred)

Work settings include Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, High Risk Antepartum, and Mother/Baby (last three preferred)

Cerner EMR experience preferred

Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required

Previous charge nurse experience required

Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, drawing venous blood, CVC/PICC line management, use of infusion pumps/drips, L&D management, assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, hemorrhage/shock management, C-section recovery, fetal monitoring, and medication administration (Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Antihypertensives, Antiseizure medications, Insulin drips, and Terbutaline)

Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted

Travel nursing experience not required; first-time travelers will be considered

Responsibilities include antepartum and postpartum care, neonatal care in the delivery room, surgical case assistance (Cervical Cerclage, D&C, Tubal Ligation), obstetric triage, fetal heart rate monitoring and interpretation, and postpartum hemorrhage management

The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, including testing for marijuana — a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid all products that could cause a positive result, including CBD, prior to and during the assignment
