American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / IR Rad Tech with a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience for a combined Cath Lab/IR Interventional Platform at a Level 2 Trauma, Magnet-designated hospital in Barrington, IL.

Combined Cath Lab/IR department with dedicated Cath and dedicated IR staff across 4 procedure rooms (pre/post area staffed by a separate unit)

Cath Lab cases include invasive cardiology, structural heart (TAVR), AAA repairs, and ablations (required); IR cases include biopsies and peripheral interventions (preferred)

Procedure room staffing ratio of 2 nurses and 1 tech per room

Charting via Epic and MERGE; Epic experience required

4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
-
On-call requirement of approximately one week per month (Monday 7:00 AM through the following Monday 7:00 AM); weekday call hours are 5:30 PM–7:30 AM, with 24/7 weekend call coverage

Weekend on-call rotation approximately once per month

Holiday on-call coverage expected, including Easter week/weekend

Techs may float between Cath Lab and IR based on skillset

Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required; IR experience preferred

Most recent experience must be within the last year

Invasive Cardiac Tech certifications: BLS, ACLS, and ARRT-R required
-
IR Tech certifications: BLS and ARRT-R required; ACLS preferred

Techs must be able to scrub and record procedures
-
Experience with invasive cardiology, structural heart procedures, TAVRs, ablations, and AAA repairs required

Epic EMR experience required

Active license required, if applicable

At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the last year

Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Techs are responsible for scrubbing and recording procedures

Orientation is 1–3 days on the unit based on comfort level

Procedural scrubs are provided by the facility

First-time travelers are considered on a case-by-case basis

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restrictions apply

Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible

Level 2 Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with Primary Stroke Center designation
